ELT/1500 is a first tier product in the ELT/Series line offering essential tools for the image analyst. Whether acquiring imagery for viewing and analysis or performing image processing operations, ELT/1500 enables users to accomplish tasks with ease. ELT works seamlessly with the entire ELT/Series software suite and supports a variety of image formats such as NITF, geoTIFF and JPEG.

Designed with an intuitive user interface, ELT/1500 organizes images, features classes, annotations and attachment document objects from within a single layer in the ELT Explorer Window. Users have complete control over document object settings and orientation. Changes to individual properties can be made such as color, size, and line weight using the context sensitive help. Each object has its own menu making actions easy to perform with just a click of the mouse. Further, image orientation can be changed using the context sensitive help to fit document objects to screen or centered as required. For instance, right mouse clicking on a marker under annotations will adjust the object to display in the center of the screen making it easy to alternate between places of interest when more than one marker is present. This is especially useful when working with large imagery.

Objects are neatly organized under their respective categories and can be renamed for ease of identification. Each object type such as annotations or images can be expanded to show all available items or collapsed to only show the object category. Text notes and other files can be attached to the document making it convenient to retrieve files and reports associated with the document. As more objects and associated data is added to the document, screen clutter can be reduced by hiding and unhiding objects as needed. While the ELT Explorer offers many features to accomplish tasks, ELT/1500 includes several other helpful tools for viewing and managing document objects.

ELT/1500 incorporates functionality that enables users to make size and scale adjustments. This can be achieved by using the mouse to select the base object or by drawing a region of interest (ROI) around the area. Several tools are available in the ROI Toolbar allowing for precise selection. Zooming in and out is also available using mouse region zoom, the zoom slider or by specifying the exact percentage levels from the pulldown menu located on the Display Tools Toolbar. ELT/1500 also includes the Zoom Window which zooms only a portion of the image. Zoom is activated by launching the Zoom Window and then clicking on the image. A box will appear indicating the zoom area. From the Zoom Window, magnification can be adjusted using the slider or pulldown menu. The zoomed area can be chipped to the clipboard, new file or document. With the latest release, graphic objects can be included when chipped. Once an image size, scale, and zoom level is arranged, image processing display settings can be adjusted for visual clarity.

ELT/1500 includes Display Level Processing Toolbar which contains image brightness, contrast, gamma correction and dynamic range adjustment. The display level processing does not permanently change the image, but rather offers a means to reveal details on screen that may not be otherwise visible. Because display level processing does not modify the data, changes can be made quickly. This is especially useful when managing large imagery where making changes to pixel values could take time. If a more permanent adjustment is preferred, there are several image enhancement, edge detection and equalizations filters available. In addition, image color settings can be converted to RGB, grayscale and index color.

ELT/1500 offers more than just image enhancement options. WIth ELT/1500 users can draw shapes, lines and text objects. The properties of each can be displayed using the context sensitive help to make adjustments. ELT includes callouts and now has outline attributes making it easy to see objects overlaying an image. Line weights, ends and start points such as arrow styles are all configurable depending on preference. If users have a favorite style, the default settings can be applied to all subsequent annotations reducing the number of clicks required to complete a task. In addition, objects can be grouped together and arranged in a specific order.

With the latest release, text is easier to edit and control. Now, text can be changed inline rather than having to make edits in the text properties box. In addition, paste within text objects is now available.
