PARAGON IMAGING AND GALILEO GROUP SIGN STRATEGIC HYPERSPECTRAL IMAGING PARTNERSHIP

Woburn, MA/ Melbourne, FL: Paragon Imaging, leading developers of Image Processing/GIS Software, announced today that they have signed an agreement with Galileo Group, Inc., industry leaders in hyperspectral imaging. This strategic alliance will fuse Galileo’s unique and proprietary spectral detection algorithms (patents pending), with Paragon’s proven image exploitation tools (ELT Series Software) in a new product called SpotLiteÔ. SpotLite will enable users to ingest large spectral data cubes, apply algorithms and identify selected target and features quickly and easily.

A multi/hyperspectral image contains a series of data, which has been simultaneously recorded. This data includes a series of narrow bands (channels) over a broad region of the electromagnetic spectrum. Each pixel in a multi/hyperspectral image contains the “spectral signature” of the imaged area. While everything being imaged reflects light differently (trees, grass, roads, cars, etc.), these unique reflections provide the ability to distinguish the subtlest differences in the “spectral signatures” of land and other features.

“SpotLite is the first multi/hyperspectral software application specifically designed for the U. S. Intelligence Community” states John Connors, Vice President, Sales and Marketing of Paragon Imaging.  “This partnership with Galileo is very exciting because it will finally bring spectral analysis to tactical and command level users.”

“We are pleased that Paragon has recognized the value of our technology and look forward to working with them to provide this very powerful detection software for the government and defense related markets” said Michael Barnes, Galileo CEO and an ex-CIA operations officer. “We are very excited by the value SpotLiteÔ will bring to its end-users.  It is an effective tool designed to operate in a manner consistent with today’s demanding warfighter requirements.  The system integrates high-powered spectral processing and “hunting” techniques developed by Galileo into a simplified user interface and meets demands for precise, on-target hyperspectral analysis by nominally trained personnel.  A real-time version is also in the works.”

About Paragon Imaging:

Headquartered in the northern Boston suburb of Woburn, Massachusetts, Paragon Imaging is a leading provider of image processing and presentation software for government, defense, and related markets. Their suite of products provide analysts with tools to exploit critical information from digital images, to link other associated information with these images, and to support sharing the processed analysis with decision makers and other information consumers.

About Galileo Group, Inc.:

Galileo Group, Inc. is leading the commercialization of hyperspectral imaging, which is a non-invasive digital extraction and analysis of “natural” bar codes for diagnostic and detection applications in the military, commercial and biomedical markets. Hyper-spectral imaging was originally developed for military use for airborne battlefield surveillance.

The Company has since harnessed this technology as a cost-efficient, real world tool for a host of close-up imaging needs. Applications range from non-invasive, early detection of skin cancer to security analysis for detection of hazardous materials and passive drug testing. For the U.S. Department of Defense, the Company has delivered the first robotic hyperspectral pod used to discriminate gases and vapors.

Galileo also provides complete turn-key solutions for commercial customers in fields such as agriculture, ecological, pollution and energy-based exploration and detection. Galileo has several patents pending related to this technology. Galileo is headquartered in Melbourne, FL, with additional offices in Boca Raton, FL.  For more information, please visit www.galileo-gp.com.
