Woburn, MA: Paragon Imaging, leading
developers of image processing software, announced
today that they are part of a team that has been
selected for Phase I of the National Imagery and
Mapping Agency's Softcopy Search Program. The team,
headed by Eastman Kodak Company, also includes:
Hewlett Packard, Idelix Software and Toshiba
e-Solutions Company.
The objective of the Softcopy Search Program is to
provide NIMA, imagery intelligence producers
throughout the Department of Defense, and other U.S.
government agencies with the capability to conduct
the search of intelligence and commercial softcopy
imagery effectively and efficiently. If deployed,
the solution would revolutionize NIMA's imagery
operations.
Under Kodak's leadership the team's state-of-the-art
technologies will be merged to deliver a focused,
high-performance integrated solution to meet NIMA's
requirements. The foundation of the team's solution
combines Paragon's premier ELT software with
Intergraph's GIS software into a single integrated
platform. In addition, Idelix offers their unique
in-context magnification technology. To run the
solution, Compaq and Toshiba provide their
best-in-class workstations and display platforms, in
order to provide NIMA a broader assessment of
performance.
"Working together with a world-class team on a
solution for the premier imagery agency in the U.S.
Government is very exciting," states John Connors,
Vice President of Sales at Paragon Imaging. "The
development work that we do for the Softcopy Search
program will drive the future development of our ELT
products to the next level, which will firmly secure
our place as the industry leader of image processing
software."
Currently, the team has provided a prototype of
their Softcopy solution to NIMA for testing and
evaluation. In Phase 2, the team will be asked to
continue development on the solution based on
feedback from NIMA's imagery analysts.
